Morning Check-In:

Dragged myself up at 5am, but didn’t fully rise from the grave until 5:25. I had grand plans of starting the day with some light cardio, but instead, I settled for a BP check and a shower. Still, even zombies need a routine. I logged 6 hr 36 min in the grave, but only 3 hr 55 min of real rest, with a reported 80% sleep efficiency. The sleep? It’s getting better… slowly. My Dexcom was like an annoying ghoul last night, constantly buzzing about low blood sugar. Dropped to 69 at 1:30 am and stayed low until 4:50 am—hit a low of 56 at 2:15 am. Probably should’ve gnawed on a snack, but I was too undead to care at the time. Next time, I’ll be ready with some nightstand snacks for those midnight lows.

BP was solid this morning at 120/76, and my HRV was a whopping 75—way above the usual undead baseline. Looks like my mornings are when I’m at my most “alive.” The Eclipse app is still claiming I’m out of balance, but it also says I’m getting fitter, so there’s that. Recovery’s slow, but it tells me my readiness is “super.” Energy’s still high, although not as off-the-charts as yesterday. I’ll take it, though. Vertigo’s been haunting me for over a year, but this week’s been better. Should’ve tracked it sooner, but hey, even zombies learn.

Afternoon Check-In:

The undead shuffle continues. Nothing major to report, just steady and conserving energy for the evening.

Evening Check-In:

Got a good one in tonight! Kicked things off with a 5-min Upper Body Stretch, led by Ben Alddis on Peloton. Quick, but this zombie burned 26 kcal stretching out these decaying limbs.

Then it was time for strength training, again with Ben Alddis. Did a 10-min Chest and Back Strength workout, mixing up lawn mower rows and chest presses. Felt the burn in these undead muscles—71 calories down the drain, but the chest pump was worth it.

Finally, finished with a solid cardio session. Back to the Turks and Caicos on Mr. NordicTrack Elliptical, taking on the Iguana Island Endurance Walk with iFit’s Stacie Clark. Clocked 1.58 miles in 23 minutes, burning 205 calories. Spent most of it cruising in Zone 2, heart rate steady between 125 and 134 bpm. Not too challenging, but enough to keep this zombie moving.

Total workout time: 41:53 minutes
Total calories burned: 302 kcal

Now, I’m settling in early tonight. Gotta bank some extra shut-eye for tomorrow’s rise and grind. Let’s hope for a solid 5:30am start, but we’ll see if the undead shuffle wins in the morning.
