Morning Check-in:
This ol’ zombie was up at 5:15 after rolling around for about 6 hr 45 min. Got a solid 4 hr 31 min of sleep, with a 71% efficiency rating, which is an upgrade from yesterday’s disaster. Blood pressure was looking good this morning, sitting at 120/77. My HRV hit 52.3 today—much better than the mid-20s it had been lately. Not sure if that’s normal for mornings, but I’m keeping an eye on it.
Tried out a new app, Eclipse, to see how “ready” I was for the day. Turns out, I’m still slow on recovery, but it claimed my readiness was on point. I felt energized and ready to move, which is a shift from recent weeks where sitting and napping sounded way better than any sort of movement.
Driving to work, I noticed something: the first week of cardio had me stuck in Zone 1, but now I’m comfortably hanging in Zone 2 with short bursts into Zone 3. Progress? I think so. Every small win counts, right?
Afternoon Check-in:
Took a stroll with some co-workers after lunch, nothing major—0.46 miles in 12:26 min and burned 46 kcal. After that, I hopped on Mr. Nordrick Elliptical for another round of Boston City Walk on iFIT. Logged 1.24 miles in 21:41 minutes, burned 137 kcal, and stayed in Zone 2 for about 10 minutes. A nice easy walk to close out the day. Heart rate was sitting at 117 on average and peaked at 126, so pretty chill overall.
Evening Check-in:
Not much action tonight. Went to band practice for a couple hours, tackled some “life” stuff, and realized it was too late for more cardio or strength training. Prioritizing getting to bed on time since I’ve got another 5 a.m. wake-up ahead of me.
Still, feeling good overall, energy high, and I’d say I’m in about as good a mood as a zombie can manage. Bring on tomorrow!
