It’s been many years since I last blogged about my fitness journey, but now I’m back, and a quick recap is in order. Things were going well until 2022 when I started having difficulty walking. It turned out that issues with my back were causing severe spinal compression, leading to numbness and loss of control in my lower left side. In 2023, I underwent successful back surgery, followed by Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP) surgery to address urinary problems caused by an enlarged prostate. Both surgeries were successful, but recovery took about six months.
However, in early 2024, I began experiencing a range of troubling symptoms, including weight gain, severe fatigue, brain fog, shortness of breath, constant thirst, and frequent urination. These symptoms were a wake-up call that my diabetes had spiraled out of control. When I finally checked my glucose levels, they were alarmingly high at 432, with an A1C of 14.7.
So here I am, starting over. I’m on new medication, and my glucose levels have been stable and within the healthy range for about a week now. I’ve also lost about 9 pounds over the last two weeks, and my stamina is gradually returning as I work on rebuilding my strength. To keep myself motivated, I’ll be blogging again, sharing recipes, and posting reviews. If you’ve found your way to this small corner of the internet, welcome aboard! I hope you find some value in my posts.
