Morning Check-In: Woke up at 6:15 after setting my alarm for 6:00. Took a little longer to rise from the grave than I’d hoped, but I was feeling fairly refreshed after 6 hours and 30 minutes of solid sleep, with an efficiency of 82%. I think I’m starting to get the hang of this sleep thing—perhaps it’s a mix of not eating too close to bedtime and the 20-minute meditation I tried out before resting.
After rolling out of bed, I checked my BP and, thankfully, it’s still holding steady at 120/76. Feeling energized, I kicked off the day with a casual session on Mr. NordicTrack Elliptical and a bottle of IQMIX Pina Colada. The Serengeti plains made for a nice, slow Zone 1 cardio session, perfect for recovery. I burned 192 calories over 28 minutes, covering 1.69 miles. The morning workout wasn’t intense, but I left the elliptical with a bit more energy to start the day.
Afternoon Check-In: I coaxed Mrs. Lady Zombie into a slow walk around the block despite her foot still giving her trouble. We clocked in just 12 minutes, burning an extra 49 calories, but hey, any movement is good movement! It was a very light shuffle, keeping my heart rate low and steady in Zone 1.
Evening Check-In: I wanted to push a little harder, so I reached for my dumbbells and got to work on a 20-minute arms and shoulders strength session with Matty Maggiacomo on Peloton. Light weights (5 lbs), but the workout had my arms burning, and I noticed my heart rate sneaking up into Zone 3 briefly. After this, I hopped back onto Mr. NordicTrack for a more challenging 27-minute interval walk in the Turks and Caicos series. I felt strong, keeping my pace up, and burned another 247 calories over 1.98 miles.
Feeling good, going to grab a snack before bed and hit another 20-minute meditation. Tomorrow’s another 6:00 am wake-up call.
Total Workout Time: 87 minutes
